I heard from a little birdy that we're running out of IP addresses.

Now, I'm pretty sure the one who wrote that article was on a panic high, and I'm pretty sure it's not the end of the world and I'm double sure that we're not going to really run out or IP addresses. Then again, what do I know.

Domain names are basically a text alias for one or more IP address.
For example:
.com = commercial forms
.edu = Educational institutions
.gov = Government entities
.mil = U.S military
.net = Major networking centers
.travel = Travel industries.
